This is a quality bridge which enables the player to alter the action. By varying the height of the strings above the fingerboard you can lower it to have the characteristic 'slap' sound loved by the the rockerbilly bass players. By heightening the bridge on the adjusters, you can return it to a normal height or anything in between.
