By pushing the slider in and out whilst blowing through the mouthpiece, the sound of a song whistle (or Swannee whistle as it is sometimes known) is produced. (If anyone is old enough to remember 'The Clangers' you will know just what that sounds like!) Great fun both to play and to look at, the whistle is also easily washed out for hygiene purposes.
