We recondition pianos here at Omega Music, but our piano showroom is now currently full of new and reconditioned pianos. So we have this Bechstein Concert Grand awaiting the process, but we are happy to sell it on as it is, if you're looking for a bargain.
Firstly the action is very good, even for its age, and the strings still have all their sound and power. The sound board is very dusty, but no splits or cracks. The keys all have the original covering with no chips or loose ivories. A little tinkering with the action may be necessary once the piano has settled into its new home, though as it stands, it plays very well, and has obviously been well maintained through its life.
The casework is the most obvious flaw. This piano came from a school concert hall and bears the scars to prove it. The marks are all chips and scratches, which, with a bit ( well a lot) of scratch cover and waxes, could be reduced quite significantly. There is a piece of veneer missing off the front of the keyboard edge, which would need replacing. It will never look new with this process, but it would look aged and cared for.
We are offering this piano as it stands at this price, but if you want extra jobs done to it, we would be more than happy to speak with you about your requirements.
