This is the traditonal shape iUke in sunburst finish, a piccolo ukulele which has special Aquila strings that are tuned an octave above regular ukuleles. Although the tuning remains the same, the iUke sings sweetly above the crowd with a ringing, surprisingly loud sound. While it is small, it is well made, with a solid cedar top, mahogany back and sides, sapele neck and rosewood fingerboard. Because it is tuned like a normal uke, you can get going straight away with your ukulele tab and the songs you know, but due to the octave higher, it is a completely different, fascinating tone.

The iUke mini ukulele comes, conveniently, with a decent quality embroidered, padded bag. It has very effective mini friction tuning, keeping the weight down so the headstock isn't unduly unbalanced and the playing experience is nicer. While tuning is slightly more fiddly with this method, the stability of tuning is impressive.
