This is a nice 8" concert scale banjo ukulele from Kala, the KA-BNJ-BK-C if you want to be precise. It has a nice, warm vintage tone from the Remo Weatherking banjo head and the closed back. There is no such thing as a subtle sounding banjo ukulele, but this comes quite close - with a nice, tight and warm sound that is loud but not overbearing.

The Kala KA-BNJ-BK-C has antique brass hardware, which is very attractive, good quality geared tuners, neck binding and a maple bridge with ebony cap. It looks very smart with its satin black finish and plays nicely too along its rosewood fingerboard, with a better action than some banjo ukuleles.

The banjolele comes with a reasonable Kala branded black padded gig bag. It is substantial and well made without the excessive weight that comes from a resonator, that puts off some uke players who are keen to try the banjo ukulele.
