This Kala KA-FMC concert ukulele is a great combination of great looks with a really good ukulele tone. While the ukulele is a handsome instrument, with flamed spalted maple back and sides, and a tightly grained solid spruce top, these materials also provide a nice, bright and loud tone. Solid spruce tends to lend itself well to brightness of tone and this is certainly the case with the KA-FMC, which is equipped with Aquila strings which temper that brightness a little - making the sound fuller. The uke is finished with a high gloss varnish highlighting the quality of the timber used in its construction. This concert size ukulele also has good quality geared tuners which give very stable tuning once the strings have settled in.
