This is the Kala U-Bass 2, the solid spruce version of their extremely popular line of bass ukuleles. This is the fretted bass uke, with 16 frets on a 20 inch scale. It is fitted with polyurethane strings which have a good feel and tension. The custom Shadow active Eq has individual piezo pickup elements for each of the four strings, delivering a good, even tone. It has tone and volume controls and a very handy built in tuner.

The Kala Ubass 2 has geared tuners which are lightweight, yet sturdy, and is equipped with a nice, good quality padded gig bag. With rich brown mahogany back and sides, black and white binding and soundhole decoration and a very nice, tight grained spruce top - the Ubass 2 is a real looker.

Acoustically the Ubass is very modest in terms of volume, but ideal for quiet practice. Plugged in it is a different beast and a very impressive one at that!
