This is the Mari Soprano from Kremona, a European made ukulele. This is an all solid mahogany ukulele, with a smooth satin finish. Other Kremona models look fancier, and apart from a nice mahogany grain and an interestingly shaped headstock and soundhole, the Mari is relatively plain. The saying 'the proof of the pudding is in the eating' is appropriate with the Mari soprano, as if it looks plain, it sounds lovely and mellow. There was a bit of a mixing of metaphors there, so just to be clear, the Kremona Mari sounds good, please do not eat it....

The all solid mahogany body delivers a nice, rounded background of warmth and fullness, with the Aquila strings balancing this nicely with a punchy treble response - giving a nice mix, and a well balanced soprano tone. The strings seem a good fit, even for those who aren't massive Aquila fans, given the fact they offset the depth with some nice sweet highs.

The Mari soprano has very good quality friction pegs and quite a shallow profile neck, making barre chords easier. There are 15 frets along the rosewood fingerboard which are accurately placed and well finished.

The Mari offers all solid mahogany fullness of tone, European craftsmanship and a little bit of quirkiness to make for a very nice soprano ukulele indeed.
