This is Ohana's limited edition SK-28 soprano ukulele, made to a vintage design with a matching old school tone. It is an all solid mahogany body uke, which delivers plenty of volume. It is visually very impressive, but importantly, it delivers a rich, versatile sound - subtle when you want it and fun, lively and loud when you give it some! The fingerboard sits flush with the body, making it an ideal strummer - you can really go for it without catching your fingers on the fingerboard.

The most striking feature of the Ohana SK-28 is its rope binding, which is everywhere! There's a the soundhole rosette, top and bottom binding and then the inlaid patterned line that runs all the way up the fingerboard to the top of the headstock. The body shape is lovely too, with a nice pinched waist that looks sleek, conjuring up images of ukes of old. The 12 fret rosewood fingerboard is smooth and the frets well dressed, with double pearl-style fret markers at the 5th, 7th and 10th fret.

The Ohana SK-28 vintage style soprano uke has Aquila strings fitted, and Gotoh friction pegs. After settling in, this combination offers very stable tuning, together with a nicely balanced feel when playing. The uke has a very light satin finish - almost having an open pore feel, which is in keeping with the vintage nature of the design.

This Ohana SK-28 is undeniably a real beauty, but it offers real quality of sound too - with a warm background tone developing alongside lively, perky treble notes. It'll look good hanging up on the wall but it is certainly made to be played too!
