The Paganini S3370 is craftsman-built in Europe from high-grade loft-seasoned European tonewoods. This one unfortunately has a small dent in the top, caused by the E string adjuster, and our trainee violin technician. Anyhow valuable lesson learnt about fitting adjusters, and £50 off, for a small mark that makes no difference at all to the sound or playability of this violin.
It features a beautifully flamed maple back and a graduated solid spruce top. In order to achieve the best tone, the craftsman selects a piece of solid spruce with just the right grain pattern and density, and then carves it by hand to bring out the best tonal qualities! The 3370 is built in the heart of Central Europe's "resonant" forests, which are famed for their fine tonewoods. Instrument making has been an important profession in the area for almost 500 years, and the workshop where the Paganini range is produced has a history going back over 100 years! This is a concert instrument, made by skilled hands, using the best materials, and benefiting from many enhancements that only an expert craftsman can make.
Made to the Guarnerius model, it is crafted from the finest European tonewoods, and is finished in a hand-made, hand-applied spirit varnish, in the traditional way. It is fitted with a fine ebony fingerboard and pegs, a top quality bridge and sound post, and Thomastik-Infeld "Dominant" strings.
As is normal with a violin of this quality, it is supplied as an instrument only. Please contact us if you require an outfit, and we will be happy to discuss your requirements.
