This good quality British-made Soprano Diatonic Xylophone has synthetic notebars. It has a satisfying sound and would form the top element of  an ensemble of pitched percussion.  (If setting up, one should also consider the German Studio 49 make ,especially the rosewood type.)

Soprano xylophones work well with the other parts of the wooden chorus, ie the Alto Xylo or deep resonator bars, and of course, the Bass Xylophone.

This ensemble is well complemented by the choir of Glockenspiels, Soprano and  Alto, with Tenor and Bass Metallophones providing the rich sonorities.

These sets of instruments will  form the central core of the Orff-based Classroom orchestra.

Naturally, all these instruments would, ideally, have the chromatic halves!
