The Conservatoire Violin is the top of the student range in the Stentor violin family.
The instrument is made using good quality tone-woods. The top is hand-carved from quarter-sawn spruce to the traditional Stradivarius specifications. The back is carved from flamed book-matched maple, as are the neck, the sides, and the ribs. The double purfling is inlaid in the traditional way. With the neck angle correctly set, the instrument has an ebony fingerboard glued in place. The pegs are also of ebony and are fitted to the reamed tapered holes. The fittings include a good quality bridge and alloy tailpiece with integral tuners. The chin rest is a hardwood teka type – fully adjustable. The strings are flexible core. The bow is of strong brazilwood with natural horsehair. The ebony frog is of full-mount design. The case is a light-weight type with shoulder straps. Burgundy red in colour, it has safety reflectors in the piping. There is a music pocket and accessory pockets. We also include a block of rosin and a case blanket.
The workshop set up In our workshop, we check and set up every violin we sell, regardless of the model, or the discount applied to the price! Our workshop process ensures that your violin will be in good playing condition upon receipt. Beware of student instruments offered without this service, as instruments straight from the factory are not set up, and the process requires technical knowledge, experience and the right equipment.
